2018 Battle Re-enactment

Step right into the authentically recreated camps of the British and American army during the War of 1812. Meet period craftspeople, artisans and sutlers who come together to create a large display of living military history. Watch re-enactment battles near the Battle of Crysler’s Farm Memorial Building, next door to Upper Canada Village.

The weekend will include:

  • Gates open at 9:30AM in Crysler Park
  • Military Camp open to the public from 10:00AM-4:00PM
  • Live Action Battle each afternoon starting at 1:30PM (starting with children’s muster and cannon demo)
  • Period merchants and artisans
  • Local historical group displays
  • Ongoing AM & PM demonstrations and drills
  • English country dancing demonstration (SATURDAY ONLY) from 11:00AM until NOON
  • Visit the dioramas at the battle of Crysler’s Farm Memorial Building and the Battlefield memorial

Admission

  • Individual: $7
  • Family (2 adults, 4 children): $30
  • 5 years old and under: FREE

We’ve added a new gallery containing photos from the 2016 event’s Saturday battle – a representation of the Battle of Hoople’s Creek. Thanks to all those who braved the weather to visit, and the re-enactors who made it possible.

2016 Battle Re-enactment

Please join us on July 9th and 10th for the Battle of Crysler’s Farm Re-enactment.

The 1812 Battle Re-Enactment is returning to the Crysler’s Farm Battlefield on July 11TH and 12TH of 2015.

2015 CRYSLER’S  EVENT SCHEDULE JULY 10-12TH 2015

FRIDAY JULY 10TH

  • Set up noon till 11:00pm at old campsite. (early set up can be requested with the Friends)

SATURDAY JULY 11TH, 2015

  • 7:00 am Light breakfast supplied -coffee, tea, juice, buns, bagels and cut fresh fruit .
  • 9:00 am Officers call and days event planning.
  • 10:00 Demonstrations (On going throughout the day), displays and camp open to public.
  • 12:00- Lunch on your own–Food vendor on site as well as village options.
  • 1:00- 2:00- Official welcome, Kids Muster and Annual Cannon Run
  • 2:00-3:00-Afternoon Battle on West field.
  • 4:00 Camp closes to public
  • 5:00-Dinner supplied for all participants at Food Tent
  • Dusk—NO evening tactical, social pub night at Cooke’s Tavern  and artillery at night at the monument

SUNDAY JULY 12TH, 2015

  • 7:00 am Light breakfast supplied -coffee, tea, juice, buns, bagels and cut fresh fruit.
  • 9:00 am Officers call and days event planning.
  • 10:00 Demonstrations, displays, (On going throughout the day) and camp open to public.
  • 11:00 Robin Morris Memorial Service and Salute-Brief gathering on the waterfront , eulogy and cannon salute.
  • 12:00- Lunch on your own–Food vendor on site as well as village options.
  • 1:00- 2:00- Official welcome, Kids Muster and Annual Cannon Run
  • 2:00-3:00-Afternoon 202nd Annv. Crysler’s Farm Battle on West field.
  • 3:30 Camp tear down begins. (Delayed departure till Monday allowed)
